From April 30, 2026 to June 30, 2026, the first collective learning cycle focused on the theme of WATER will be held in Umbria.

What humans do when they name waterways is the work of classifiers, a continuous effort to keep track of something that constantly eludes them: […] everything constantly eludes them in the changing geography of Water. The name is only the name that humans want to give to a controllable portion of something that is beyond their control.<\/em>

Are you involved in journalism, performing arts, or another discipline? Do you have a personal project related to water that you would like to develop in a collective context of 3-5 people? Are you interested in receiving support in the realization of this project according to your specific needs, while at the same time would you like to register it in a collective space of collaboration and care?
\nProjects must be concrete and shareable in the territories.

Water is an element of the Earth in constant exchange with humans and non-humans. Water flows through ecological, infrastructural, and bodily systems; aquifers, rivers, lakes, seas, and oceans are all interconnected. Colonialism has privatized and diverted water for its own benefit; it has destroyed, erased, neglected, or stolen water technologies created by states or communities (irrigation systems, water collection basins, canals). It has imposed rigid boundaries and deprived communities of ancestral access to water. Control over water has always fascinated those in power: in addition to ordering flood prevention works, emperors, kings, dictators, and leaders of all kinds have asked engineers to divert and control water to demonstrate that no element can escape their control.<\/em>
